

I.T. Healthchecks
Our health-checks are performed by one of our trained engineers, we do not subcontract out any work. some of the checks that they will perform are listed below. A full network health-check usually lasts about 4 hours, once the diagnostic has been completed we can arrange to discuss any issues that we have identified and recommended solutions.
Servers
- Sufficient storage space on the disks and are defragmented
- Sufficient virtual memory
- Sufficient free memory check
- Sufficient CPU time available
- All current security patches been applied
- Review of the Event logs
- Checks for hardware pre-failure warnings
- Checks for hardware redundancy
- Anti-virus system in place and functional
- Anti-virus definitions up-to-date
- Redundant power supply installed, tested and is suitably rated to the load
- Correct time and date set
- Uptime of the server
Backup Systems
- Backup system installed
- Backup policy is still in use
- Tape lifetime checks
- Drive heads have been cleaned
- Correct file selection being backed up
- Check of tape storage facilities
- Check of tape 'off-site' policy
- Check that a full system restore can be made
- Check that original system media is available
Network Infrastructure
- Hardware check of networking equipment
- Check that there are enough ports available for future use
- Security check of firewall's
- Examine network address policies
- ISP configuration check
- ISP value check
- Physical check of quality of cabling and ports
- Physical check of quality of patch leads
- Check of the VPN and current configuration
- Wireless checks including type, security and performance
- Device naming conventions
Workstations
- Number of workstations suitable for business processes
- Anti-virus protection installed and up-to-date
- Use of any Internet proxing software
- Check of locally stored documents
- User privilege assessments
Printers
- Printing requirements are met
- Check of consumable usage
- Check value of Total Cost of Usage
Security
- Password policies in place
- Password policies are adhered to
- All credentials are known and are stored securely
- Perimeter defence is adequate
- Firewall systems in place and operating correctly
- Usage polices regarding email and Internet browsing are in place
Looking to the future
- Taking into consideration the company plans and ensuing the system can scale gracefully
