WLAN Site Certification
- Confirmation of coverage-related recommendations or previous site survey
- After the fact site survey for existing networks when a comprehensive survey was not previously performed
- Up-dating of recommendations based on any new environmental conditions or requirements
- Complex environments
- Complete documentation
- Once the site survey results have been certified, they qualify for our 18-month guarantee
Can you be really sure? If you depend on a wireless network to support your critical business operations, you’d like know for sure that the coverage and the performance will be there. The Sienar Systems WLAN Site Certification service will test to see if any previous site survey results are accurate and still viable. If a previous site survey was performed by another vendor, were those results guaranteed? If not, or if you have any reason to doubt those results, consider engaging the Sienar Systems team to perform the WLAN Site Certification process.
No site survey performed, but your network is up and running? Are you sure it is providing coverage to the degree your data supply chain requires? The Sienar Systems WLAN Site Certification process will let you know for sure.
Ensure Adequate Coverage
Just because a wireless infrastructure has been set up and seems to be performing adequately in support of one application, or in one location, doesn’t mean that the infrastructure is automatically scalable and can accommodate new requirements. If an existing WLAN has been expanded, or re-purposed, without a new site survey having been accomplished, it is recommended that the installation be certified in order to demonstrate whether coverage is adequate to support new purposes. A WLAN set up originally to accommodate a manufacturing application is probably not portable as is to support even a carpeted office requirement. And certainly the portability of a relatively light-duty network to any application that requires the movement of very large chunks of data, such as high-resolution graphics transmittal, is doubtful, and should only be confirmed by professionals.
WLAN Site Assessments
- Evaluation of existing WLAN per customer performance requirements
- Review of access point configurations
- Recommendations as to optimizing the wireless network
- Assessment of WLAN per customer security requirements
- Funk Steel-Belted RADIUS configuration
You need your wireless network to perform the way it was designed—efficient, effective and secure. A periodic Wireless Environment Assessment can help keep it that way. Too, many “hiccups” in the system? Suspect a security leak? Your network may need a check up. If your wireless network is not operating at its optimum level of efficiency, you are losing time (and therefore, money) every minute it continues running. Multiply your company’s daily revenues by any factor of deficiency. It’s easy to imagine how much more profitable you could be if your network were healthier. Any hacker with a little determination can break into an unprotected WLAN. Is yours as secure as you think it is?
Assess Your Needs
Maybe it’s time for you to establish a wireless security policy. Or maybe, because wireless environments do change over time, it’s time to determine whether what was once secure still is. In either case, a Site Security Assessment will give you the peace of mind of knowing what the risks are, and provide a useful diagnosis for action. We believe the most effective and efficient wireless security is designed specifically for your particular environment. We conduct a thorough assessment of your facilities, your hardware and software and your physical surroundings. This results in a customized starting point for implementing security measures.
Keep your wireless network healthy and secure. Don’t let an inefficient or insecure WLAN become a drain on revenue, or a source of proprietary vulnerability. Sign up for periodic Wireless Environment Assessments for either ELAN network performance or security, or both. Intermec knows wireless ADC networks. We’ve been there since the beginning.
